Flecainide Na channel
blocker class IC
• Taken orally.
• Mech:
1) blocks Na+ channels → ↓ conduction, not affect K+ channels
2) delays ventricular repolarization → ↑ ERP (effective refractory period).
• Uses:
Used in severe ventricular dysrhythmia
• Side eff blurred vision, dizziness, and nausea, negative inotropic effect
and can aggravate chronic heart failure, Proarrthymic
• Precautions and interaction
•
• Not used with drugs which ↓ cardiac contractility as (β-blockers & Ca2+
channel blocker
