The MasTer responds To seeker InquIrIes
The soul within each of us is the true Christ, and the cruci-
fixion is just the sacrifice of the lower self, or the mind/ego.
our true identity is soul first and foremost, and the ego and
personality of the mind comprise the false self, which has
pulled a power play on the soul. The mind has only bor-
rowed its glory, power, energy, and indeed everything else
from the soul, and then it postures itself as the originator
of them.
so, the fear that can arise when you consider the
spiritual pursuit is merely the subconscious mind reactively
saying, “I do not want to sacrifice any part of my life. I
love my pleasures and all my good times, and I have things
the way I want them. Why should I disturb this?” This is
really a very interesting conundrum, because once some-
one does taste the higher consciousness, they find it hard to
understand why they waited so long to take the next step.
and yet, on the other hand, we can be extremely fearful
and even angry about having to sacrifice anything in the
initial stages, and so this is no laughing matter at all. I won’t
tell you not to worry about it, because I know the fear is
real, but if you can understand that it is only your subcon-
scious refusing to let go of what your mind mistakenly
thinks is divine, then you can transcend this subconscious
fear and continue on with your spiritual pursuit.
The mind never really feels that life can be better than
what it is right now, and this is the greatest illusion our fear
and anger weave. The soul within knows better. This is
why we are all striving – because we know, from a much
deeper level, that there must be more than what our fear
and anger are representing, protecting, and expressing.
3. Q. I have been searching for over thirty years, and I
have studied many paths and doctrines. I get very involved
at first, but then my interest wanes. Why is this?
