Yuki and Mei have been friends for a couple of months, and are now

comfortable talking with each other casually. He asks Mei about her plans for the
next day.
Yuki: Will you be busy tomorrow?

Ashita isogashi’i?
あした忙しい？

Mei: Not particularly.
U’un, betsu ni.

ううん、別に。
Yuki: Are you interested in things like Kabuki?

Kabuki toka kyōmi aru?
歌舞伎とか、興味ある？

Mei: Yes. It’s a (part of) traditional Japanese culture, isn’t it?
Un, Nihon no dentō-bunka deshō.

うん。日本の伝統文化でしょう。

Yūki: Then will you go?
Ja, iku?
じゃ、行く？

Mei: Okay.

Okkē.
