Mrs. Yamamoto sees Mei throwing away her trash and explains recycling to her.
Yamamoto: Wait a second! You shouldn’t throw those away.
Chotto matte! Sore wa sutete wa ikemasen yo.

ちょっと待って！それは、捨ててはいけませんよ。

Mei: Do you mean these bottles and cans, too?
Kono bin ya kan mo.
このビンや缶も。

Yamamoto: Same. It would be wasteful, wouldn’t it?

Onaji desu. Mottainai deshō.
同じです。もったいないでしょう。

Mei: You recycle everything, don’t you?
Nan de mo risaikuru-suru n desu nē.
何でもリサイクルするんですねえ。
