against the Roundhead infantry, the
Royalist cavalry leaves the main
battle to attack the baggage train,
wheretheymeetstiffresistance.
The tide turns
06 The Parliamentarian
reserves bolster their flagging
centre and begin to push
the tiring Royalist infantry
back. They’re supported by
Cromwell’s cavalry, which
engages the Royalist left,
and by the survivors of
Ireton’s troops, who assail the
Royalist right.
