submarine is also on display.

cobblestone streets, passing
through Victoria as it once was
from the 1870s to the 1920s.
Displays include storefronts, a
replica silent movie theater,
a hotel, a dress-maker’s studio, a
train station, a saloon, and a busy
Chinatown street.
First Peoples Gallery
▼ This gallery is dedicated to the First Peoples of BC,
with many of the artifacts belonging to the Haida.
The central exhibit is the Totem Hall, featuring huge
carvings, startling masks, and a ceremonial
longhouse belonging to Chief Kwakwabalasami.
Thunderbird Park
▼ This park, established in 1941, surrounds the
museum. Exhibits here include some outstanding
totem poles, a traditional First Nations big house,
the Helmcken House,
and St. Ann’s
Schoolhouse,
one of the oldest
structures (built
