The origin of this church dates
back to 1409, when it started as
a convent for laymen monks and
       was known as Paulusbroederkerk
       (Brother Paul Monastery). After
1550 it was handed over to
       the Huguenots – Protestant
       refugees from France – and
       was renamed Église Wallone.
       Services and regular lectures are
       still conducted here in French.
         The building boasts splendid
       acoustics and an impressive
       organ built by Christiaan Müller,
one of the finest remaining in the
world. The church is often used
       for concerts and various events.
