Demonstrative Pronouns
Study the three demonstrative pronouns in Filipino. The demonstrative pronoun to
be used is determined by the proximity of the object to the speaker.
Ito This (object is near the speaker)
Iyan That (object is far from the speaker)
Iyon That (object is farther away from the speaker)
Mga Pangungusap (Sentences)
Study the following sentences.
1. Telepono ito. This is a telephone.
2. Hindi ito papel. This is not paper.
3. Susi ito. This is a key. (the key is near)
4. Silya iyan. This is a chair. (the chair is far)
5. Pamaypay iyon. That is a fan. (the fan is very far)
