B ounding through cold Arctic forests, the fierce wolverine

is perfectly at home. Like many mammals, it wears two coats
at once. On top, it has a coat of very long fur that is frost-resistant.

Underneath, there is a second layer, which is super soft and super

thick. Wolverines even have extra-furry feet, which act as snowshoes.

The wolverine has a powerful body and massive jaws that can

crunch through bone and frozen meat. This is useful because it
buries leftovers in the snow to eat later. A wolverine will eat
almost anything—mice, deer, bird eggs, berries, and even

uneaten prey left by other predators.
