And so I installed the system in my CARF-Eurosport (see Jet-
Power 6 and 5 / 2019): On the battery holder are already left
and right recesses. At the back right is the smoke pump and at
the back left the small 300 ml-tank for the smoke oil. The two
valves are for the adjustment of the smoke tubes left and right.
The SmokeDriver is located at the front of the servo for the ca-
nards and is also supplied from the drive battery on impeller
models. In jet models with turbine a separate 6s LiPo battery
must be used.
This completes the installation of the components in the fu-
selage. Now the evaporators on the wings are still missing. In
the Eurofighter the vaporizers are located on the outer weapon
carrier. To attach the weapon carrier, two wooden dowels are
laminated into the wing and then the weapon carrier is screwed
onto them. Finally, a hose for the smoke-oil and a cable for the
heating are pulled through the hollow surface - that's it. The ca-
ble and hose are simply fed into the fuselage and connected
when the model is assembled. The total additional weight for
the smoke system is about 500 g.
The wake vortices look fantastic in the blue sky and can also
be switched on manually.
