                                               Where to See
                                               Baroque Prague
                                               The Baroque is everywhere in
                                               Prague. Almost all the churches
                                               were built or remodelled in
                                               Baroque style, the finest being
St Nicholas in the Little Quarter
(see pp128–9). There are also the
                                               grand palaces and smaller houses
of the Little Quarter (see pp122–41),
the façades in the Old Town (see
                           Battle of the White Mountain

Observatory Tower became a de facto province of Austria.

                            St Clement’s Church gave its
                            name to the whole complex.

No. 16, has preserved its typical
                                               Baroque house sign (see p130).

                     communion host –
                    became increasingly
                    elaborate and ornate
                      during this period.
