A pre-shading 'marbling' effect was used prior to the top colours being applied, which creates a natural-looking faded effect in the final finish

Using a photocopy of the painting template supplied in
the kit, the author trimmed out the camouflage patterns
and tacked them in place using spray adhesive

Here, the Tamiya Acrylic XF-81 RAF With the paper templates
Dark Green is being airbrushed over the peeled away, we can
previously applied XF-54 Dark Sea Grey observe the realistic effect

The white-painted areas of the fuselage have been
masked off here (with pink tape) ready for the
camouflage application

All four upper wing surfaces,
horizontal stabilisers and upper
fuselage have all received their
grey/green finish and are ready
for further weathering
