Another important detail on the
prominent Tempest chin: the air intake
grille. It is essential to use the images of
the original for comparison, since there
were different air intakes on the Tempest
Contrary to what is indicated
in the Brassin set instructions,
the resin insert was glued to the
'rough formwork' wing because it
seemed a little fragile
After removing the moulding plugs,
the photo-etched parts were glued
and then painted black
Then, the area was varnished with Gunze Super Metallic,
because the latter offers a very authentic and easy-to-work finish
The detail painting was carried out with Vallejo
paints (Copper, White, Red and Brown).
Highlights and shading were obtained with light
grey and dirt added with diluted oil paint
