OBJECTIVE:
This program can be offered with all Undergraduate programs/courses for all engineering streams. The FSIPD
program aims to improve students’ awareness and understanding of the basic concepts involved in Integrated
Product Development (IPD) by providing exposure to the key product development concepts. After
completing this program, the student will be able to:
Understand and analyze various global trends and decide on the scope of the new product design.
Conceptualize, prototype and develop product management plan for a new product based on the type of
the new product and development methodology integrating the hardware, software, controls, electronics
and mechanical systems
Understand requirement engineering and know how to collect, analyze and arrive at requirement for new
product development and convert them in to design specification
Understand system modelling for system, sub-system and their interfaces and arrive at the optimum
system specification and characteristics
Gain knowledge of the Innovation & Product Development process in the Business Context.
