OBJECTIVES:
To be able to plan an experiments in such a way that the statistical results in valid and meets the
objective.
To learn a variety of experimental designs and be able to choose an appropriate design for a
specific study
To learn to perform the proper statistical analysis and draw valid conclusions from a specific
experiments.
To know the formulation of the design of experiment model for the industry problems
To learn to design a system
UNIT I BASICS OF EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN 6
Importance of experiments, experimental strategies, basic principles of design, terminology, ANOVA,
steps in experimentation, sample size, normal probability plot, linear regression models
UNIT II SINGLE FACTOR EXPERIMENTS 10
Completely randomized design, Randomized block design, Latin square design. Statistical analysis,
estimation of model parameters, model adequacy checking, pair wise comparison tests.
