ACADEMICS
tudy to show thyself approved unto God. These
works from II Timothy 2:15 may be the best
known reference to studying in the Bible, but
they are by no means the last words on the
subject. Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and I
Thessalonians also use the word STUDY. There
are many other scriptural references to the
concept of study using different words or
phrases. Joshua 1:8 is a commandment to
meditate on the word both day and night. Study
could be substituted for the word meditate.
The academic program is designed to prepare
the student intellectually for the challenges that
ie ahead. The courses equip the student with the
knowledge needed to make a difference in his or
her chosen ministry. However, it is ultimately the
student’s responsibility to develop the skills and
to learn the facts that result in sound judgement.
True wisdom yields good decisions.
The strength of an educational program does
not rely solely on the merit of the instructors’
abilities or the textbooks’ qualifications. It is also
confederate with our desire to learn and our
drive to excel, which results in actions that are
done all to the glory of God.
