THOMAS ROBERT MARTIN

Soccer, Letter, V, VI; Winter Track, Letter, V, Varsity, VI; Spring Track,
Varsity, V.
Two years ago Tom Martin screeched to a halt at the gates
of M.B. as a renowned genius from North Providence High, and
was almost immediately stunned into academic awareness. Deep
research as to the origin of his nickname, "Squirrel," has unearthed
the following hypotheses; I) he makes a habit of burying his books
under the oak trees outside Friends Hall and promptly forgetting
them; 2) he arrived one day at school with a hand sprained from
his arduous efforts to chase a female squirrel up a tree. This latter
theory seems the more likely, for we all know Tom is a diligent
student with- a love for that laughing outdoor life. "Squirrel" is
a member of the Ski Patrol and a karate expert whose efforts were
brought to fullest fruition in the Proscenium Club wrestling scene;
but automobiles, especially a certain M.B. (Mercedes-Benz), mark
him as our class's number one flash-merchant.
ERIC DAVID MATISON
Camera Club, IV, V; Chess Club, III, IV, VI; Lacrosse, Manager IV; Mosaic,
VI; Swimming, III, IV, V, VI; Tennis, III, IV, V, VI; Spring Track, III, IV, V, VI;
U.N. Club, VI; Rocket Club, V.
A truly aristocratic Mississipian, Eric joined the unique society
of the M.B. boarding department as a freshman. A noted sports
aficionado throughout his four years at M.B., Eric has been
attracted by such sports as fall tennis, winter swimming in the
"bathtub", and spring track. In the classroom, Eric is down-to-
earth and hard-working, and he is always ready to give Mr. Ran-
some ample information concerning the South's role in American
history. Next fall, Eric will refurn to the South for college, and
we are sure that while he is diligently pursuing his studies, he'll also
be busy enjoying that good ole Southern way of life. Long after
he has left the ivied walls of M.B., Eric will be remembered for
those immortal words, "The South will rise again!"
GLENN JONATHAN McCREA
Broadcasting Club, IV, V, VI; Cross Country, IV; Letter, V, VI; Flying Club,
III, IV, V; Football, III; Mosaic, VI; Quaker, V, VI; Winter Track, III, IV;
Letter, V, VI.
If you ever see a guy walking along wearing sneakers, white
levis, a beret at a rakish tilt, a coat with the collar turned up, and
a transistor radio in hand, the chances are good that it's Glenn Mc-
Crea. "M cCroo" is "plenni flash guy." An avid guitarist, record
collector, radio fan, and Supreme lover, Glenn's lively spirit and
vibrant personality make him an asset to any social gathering,
several of which, we are told, he attends weekly. Lest you think
Glenn's only asset is his personality, take heed. As a long time
star on Doc's cross country and winter and spring track teams,
and as a participant in Mr. Coan's Geometry and Mr. Sulloway's
English courses, Glenn has established a well earned reputation
as a hard worker.
