1920 The Lower School became an integral part of School life with
Drum Corps, newspapers, and athletic teams.
“The Trinity School Fife and Drum Corps, founded in 1912, was
the outcome of an expressed desire that our boys might improve in
their marching. The first instruments used were tin flageolets to the
accompaniment of one solitary drum . . . With ten skillful fifers,
four snare drums, one large bass, two colorbearers and a fine reper
toire of fourteen pieces, Trinity School’s Fife and Drum Corps is
an organization of which all can be justly proud.” The organization
made up solely of Lower School boys lasted down through the nine
teen thirties and can justifiably be called the forerunner of the
Trinity School Marching Band.
