until it is the past.
Imagine this, an alien is being beamed down from the mother-ship equipped with an array
of weapons. The weapons should be used as a last resort.
The beaming process is competed with no complications. The alien is now among the class
of humans referred to as students.
Monday is the day of week. Students are at school recuperating from their weekends.
Alien ears are tuned in; eager to soak up any information, but the halls are quiet.
Tuesday and Wednesday are much the same but the calculating ears of the alien detect
a gradual volume increase. Thursday the action begins; the echo of sound patterns
bounce from the walls. Students are busy conversing.
Guess what? This last weekend my friends were put into jail for
stripping some guy’s car.”
‘‘Dawn, Dawn, I love you.”
“How innocently sweet these beings are. On my planet no one would
have thought to love the rising sun,” ponders the alien.
Friday comes as a deafening roar. Students yell to one another, while
standing but a foot away.
The “alien” is no more. Some people may listen to students and feel we

unique to our generation, by: Nadine Richardson
