ONVICTIONS. Students deal with many chal
lenges when they leave for college. It is a time
for them to form their own convictions. Many are away from
home and on their own for the first time. But parents, pas
tors, families, faculty and staff remind the students that
they will be praying for them. 2 Corinthians 1:11 states,
“Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift
bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks
may be given by many on our behalf.”
In order to be effective in our Christian lives, we must
ask the Lord for His guidance. “Prayer is a necessary ele
ment in any event in our lives,” Mrs. Catherine Anthony
said. She went on to say that it is especially important to
ask God for guidance about how we use our time. While
teaching classes at a local college, she said beginning class
without prayer seems as though something is missing that
would make the class better. Seeing the difference is easy
when the Lord is present.
