One of the first blessings of each new school year for faculty, students,

and friends of the college is the Convocation service. Dr. Ronald Godwin,

the new administrative assistant to the president and academic dean,

delivered a dynamic discourse this year on September 12 on the importance

of personal victory. Stressing that the main goal of Clearwater Christian

College is to produce dedicated servants like Caleb of the Old Testament, he

impressed upon us the necessity of maintaining continual oneness with the

Lord.

Concluding the first rather hectic week of school was the annual Faculty

Recital on September 15. Faculty members Mrs. Mary Martin (soprano)

and Mr. Charles Short (piano) gave thrilling performances of various pieces.

Our guest artist, Mrs. Dorothy Gronlund (soprano) delighted us with her

performance also. The highlight of the recital was an enthusiastically

received duet by Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Gronlund, accompanied by Mr.

Short. Clearwater Christian College is extremely fortunate to have such

talented facultv members.
