eep mental concentration and
D weight lifting, as well as
rigorous swimming were worked
on by the boys swimming team. It
involved getting up as early as 5:30
and staying as late as 6:30 every
day from November to February.
Generally, a workout would
consist of 4,500 to 5,000 yards,
which was equal to 180 to 220 laps
of the pool. Evening practices were
mandatory and at least one
morning practice was required per
week.
The team finished with a 5-4
record with the highlight of the
season coming at the Papillion-
LaVista Invitational. The team
finished in second place, only five
points behind Millard South. At
the state meet senior Jon Bucklin
finished seventh in the 100-yard
breaststroke. Sophomore Chad
Schuttler finished tenth in one-
meter diving, and the 200-yard
Medley Relay finished at eleventh
place.
