What makes a team? The answer is found in two words-heart and
discipline. To function as a team, the members must have a pas
sion for the game rooted in their hearts. To have a winning team
the players must have discipline, putting themselves under subjec
tion to their coaches. Fans can see the excitement, anxiety, and
anticipation in the eyes of the team, but they don’t see the deter
mination and hard work that got them on the field.
Their thoughts and feelings about their own home terrain
cannot be compromised. They believe that their opponents are
merely visitors in their “home.’’ Like any host, they are kind and
welcoming, but they will fight for their fans and for their territory.
Passion and discipline is the heartbeat of the Cougars. Team work,
aggressive play, hard work, and most importantly Christian testi
mony are the foundations of a disciplined team. Colossians 3:23
states: “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and
not unto men;’’ The teams can possess all the skills, but they must
excel in conduct-this will make them a winner every time.
