Language is one of mankind’s most
powerful tools. The spoken word is
the basic building block for effective
communication and a foundation
stone for civilization. Its strength lies
in its ability to convey one’s accu
mulated knowledge to another. Its
weakness lies in man’s inability to
use it properly.
Although communication has
progressed far beyond simple spoken
language, the word is still the com
mon denominator in whatever form
of expression we choose to use. Re
alizing that the power of a word is
often manifest by how it is spoken
and its meaning interpreted by when
it is uttered, it is our responsibility to
learn what to say, when to say it, and
how to say it.
