nvesting in
their Future.
The division of business studies is keeping
pace with the advancements made in the fi
nancial world. With the addition of Mr. Ian
Duncan, the program now has a permanent
division chairman. He guides the instruction of
the accounting courses as well as overseeing the
rest of the business curriculum.
Quality instruction is what sets Clearwater’s
department apart from similar departments in
other colleges. Guest lecturers from local fi
nancial institutions speak in classes. Mr. Dun
can has had representatives of Sun Bank speak
in his Money and Banking class. The secre
tarial science students visit area offices to be
come familiar with different types of business
es and their office requirements. The business
curriculum further achieves excellence with
the support of computer sciences. Mr. George
Dollar and Mr. Carl Mikule have expanded the
courses offered and tailored them to the spe
cific needs of the business student as well as the
non-major. Every student takes at least one
class of computer science to become computer
literate before graduating.
So much complex figuring
is required in today’s mar
ket that a calculator is es
sential to completing the
job. It is only logical that
students in Mr. Duncan's
Intermediate Accounting
class use them to finish a
test. Lydia Helms pauses
to think through a ques
tion before writing down
her answer.

side of the three and one-
half inch hard disk to his
beginner computer class . \ l \
