tanning Ahead
After three and one-half years of intensive
training and instruction, education majors and
minors are finally ready for their student teach
ing internship.
Our student teachers are placed in coop
erating public and Christian schools. They
teach ranging from elementary through high
school. With so many schools in the Tri-city
area, our seniors are able to acquaint the
selves with different curricula and the specific
requirements each type of school represents.
The College hosts an annual Teacher Re
cruitment Conference. The education club
helped sponsor this two-day event in which
principals needing teachers set up booths of
their schools and interview potential appli
cants. Juniors and Seniors brought their re
sumes as potential employees. They were
searching for the right place to teach as much
as the principals were looking for the right
people to teach their students. The underclass-
en education majors were afforded the op
portunity to become aquainted with different
schools for future contact. This year there were
thirty-five schools represented at the Confer
ence.
