reeks, an amazing part of college life, was a
community in which students could become involved.
The year started with Greek Rush- a chance for new stu
dents to meet all the Greeks and literally "rush" to sign
their name on a list to join the Greek they wanted.
Greeks met to interact and plan activities. The meet
ings included food and fellowship, and a devotional from
Adm inistrative
the chaplain. They planned activities for their members
and also for other students on campus. One of the major
Greek-planned activities was the Christmas Carnival which ♦assisting the administrators ♦correspondence ♦sched

included the traditional visit from Santa. Students visited
the decorated rooms and voted for the best ones. Also,
students had a snowball fight and a dodgeball tournament
The tournament was a lot of fun for those who participated
and for those who merely observed. "Dodgeball was really
intense. When the guys really got into the game they made
these faces which were pretty funny," said Kyla Collins.
Greeks were also involved in community service; they
cleaned up beaches, sang at nursing homes, and helped at
an elementary fair. When girls joined a Greek, they made
a new group of friends as well as being able to participate
in their activities and to help others in the community.
