S erving in the community was a way students
showed they cared. It also gave them the opportunity to
help others. Brooke Littlefield was in charge of the Adopt
a Fire Department service. She said she enjoys helping
othersand participating in the community. "Itisfunand in
teresting. We get to do something for the community, and
we also get to see how appreciative they are. It has made
me more appreciative of those who work in service areas
in our community, risking their lives to save others."

college had a station and handed out water to the com
petitors during the race. Aaron Wilson, who volunteered
at this event, enjoyed the people with whom he worked.
He said, "I enjoyed most of all getting to witness to one
of the volunteers I was working with and answer some
questions he had about church and Christ."
Laura Groom would like to someday be a part of a
large race. She said, "One day I really hope to be in one
myself. It was a lot of fun getting to know the people I
worked with better too!" Volunteering was a chance to
better connect with other people in the community who
were involved.
