For some, however, the opening week was a time Student Activities Director
Assistant to Dean of Men
for adjustments. Those who had just said goodbye to
their parents for the first time struggled with homesick
ness. Others struggled with breaking out of their shells
and getting to know those in their dorms and classes. "For Mrs. Sue Olsen
Library Technical Assistant
me, adjusting to college was a fun and exciting adventure,"
Mrs. Karin Puckett
said Jessica Mateo. "Although I missed my family and was Financial and Information
Coordinator
occasionally homesick, forming bonds with my roommates
has helped me to adjust."
Adapting to college life is a challenge. However,
the challenge is not one that cannot be overcome. With
Mr. Anthony Rendina
perseverance and a focus on the One who can give the
Food Service Staff
most comfort, adjusting can become much easier. Suc Mrs. Cheryl Schlosser
Scholarship and Grant
ceeding cannot take place without the correct mindset
Specialist
and without the correct attitude. Failure to adapt usually
depends on the heart of the one trying to adapt. Those
who are unwilling to adapt must pay the consequences.
However, those who realize God is in control will soon also
Mr. Richard Schlosser
realize that they do not have to be fearful in situations that Chief of Campus Security
Mr. Paul Schmiel
are new and unfamiliar.
