"My freshman year the feeling was a little bit different
than my sophomore year. I was scared the first year, and
my sophomore year I went to state knowing I had a chance
to place, and maybe win it, but it would only take one
mistake to dissolve all of the hard practices, determination
and making weight," said sophomore Todd Torring. This was
Torring's second year to attend the State Wrestling
Tournament in Lincoln. As the wrestlers walked out for their
final match of the season, the state wrestling committee
played "W e Are The Champions" by Queen. But the
wrestlers knew that only one would come out with a first
place win.
Torring had microscopic surgery done on his knee at
the midpoint of the season, but felt it didn't affect his
individual record. "I felt that the biggest problem was the
three weeks I layed out of practice. I was out of shape,
and I had only one week to get myself back in shape."
