At 155 pounds, freshman Tony Marsh waits for
the whistle to be blown so he can execute his
first move.
The thrill of victory was felt after freshman Joe
Abbott pinned his man, Abbott's overall finish
was fourth at the tournament.
Better than
expected
The team was "better than
expected," said freshman coach Erik
Torring. "I would like to see more
people go out next year, but it's
better to have quality than quantity."
Among some of the strong wres
tlers were freshmen Joe Abbott, Mike
Wicker, Rick Gray and Luke Grabows-
ki. All of the wrestlers "worked hard,
showed interest and improvement
day by day," said Torring, Not too
many of the freshman guys went out
for wrestling this year, there were a
total of 12 wrestlers that went out.
