Which do you find easier to learn from, a lecture class
or a lab class?
Many students were asked this question and told their
feelings.
Some felt that lecture classes such as World History and
literature classes where there is mostly note taking and
listening are easiest to learn from. While others felt that a
lab class where they could actually get up and try the
things themselves was easier. The students said that being
able to learn from their own mistakes was better than
having everything given to them.
These are some of the comments made by students
interviewed about the subject.
Junior Julie Helmick- "I find it easier to learn from a
lecture class because a lecturer gives all the information
right to you."
Junior Doug Gibbins- “You learn by trial and error. The
hands on experience received from a lab is easier to learn
from."
Junior Kim Moore- “I find it easier to learn from a lecture
class because you're being told the correct way to do
something. In a lab class you are doing everything on your
own."
