Woodworking is an elective class that allows people
I to make about anything one could imagine. Gun chests,
dart boards, even cases for clocks, have been taken home
by Reno Pfeil's woodworking students.
I
Students who elect to study woodworking seem to see
special value in this year-long 10 credit course.
Why was this class taken?
When asked this question, sophomore Tom O'Grady
said, "I've been around woodworking for about seven
years and I feel that it helps a person relax, it's great."
Freshman Tom Sandow said the class seemed like a lot
of fun, so he tried it. "The people in this class have a special
type of talent, not only in the work they do, but how they
all help one another. That is something you won't find in
all the classes you go to."
Some woodworking students felt the class gave them
a needed break from regular classroom work.
Said sophomore Rich Keearns, "I feel that it has helped
me in school quite a bit because it is right in the middle
of the school day and gives me a chance to do something
I really enjoy."
This stand is just an example of one of the
projects the students can make in woodwork
ing.
Taking his time to add the finishing touches to
his clock is senior Dave lltzsch.
