first game of the tournament. The girls were thankful for
more wins the skills taught them by Miss Kris DeWitt. Jenny said,
"She is a great coach, not only because she has so much
knowledge about basketball, but also because she cares
than ever about our spiritual needs."

the championship game. Despite the deter
mination that characterized their season, they
fell short of the district title. Although they
lost the final game, team members were re
luctant to call it a disappointing season. "We
had a great year," Jamene Police said. "We
won some very exciting games and played
good basketball all the way through." Coach
Kris DeWitt agreed, stating that she was
pleased with all that the team had accom
plished. The team ended with a 7-7 record,
and even the losing efforts were close in
score. But best of all, the ladies had a winning
attitude, and that is what made this record
season a success.
Keep your eye on the ball! Alert and aggressive, Christy
Hobbs moves to steal the ball from the opposing team.
Christy helped the Lady Cougars to a 51-44 decision over
Southeastern in the first round of the tournament.
