The Cougars proudly hold their district championship
banner after defeating Southeastern in the final game of places
thedistrict tournament. "We were happy to get this district
title and were really excited about going back to Nationals

Alter completing a winning regular season
with a record of 20 and 6, the Cougar men's
basketball team went on to capture the district
championship by defeating Southeastern Bible
College with a score of 80 to 76. Motivated by
winning the right to be the sixth seed in the
national tournament, the team travelled to
Cincinnati, Ohio.
The tournament began with a close, excit
ing game against Mid-America Bible College.
This victory marked Coach Del Wubbena's
500th win as a basketball coach. Near the end
of the game, Jim Sanney narrowed Mid-
America's five point lead by nailing a three
pointer. In the closing seconds, Joel Mason
made a three-point shot enabling the Cougars
to win the game by one point. They then de
feated Freewill Baptist Bible College for their
second victory. "I knew that il we would work
together as a team, we would have a shot at the
national championship title," said Jim Sanney.
After the two exciting wins in the tournament,
the Cougars lost the national championship
game to Kentucky Christian College and fin
ished the tournament in second place.
Adam Haines tries to increase the Cougars' lead over
