More Instrumentalists
And New Grand Pianos
Make Greater Variety
ine Arts has gained new talent and
added new pianos to its department. No longer
do student recitals consist of virtually all piano
and voice solos. According to Mr. A1 Jurado, this
is a result of the greater number of instru
mentalists being featured as well as the large
number of talented new students.
An important boost to the department oc-
cured when the Wurlitzer company provided the
school with nine new pianos valued in excess of
fifty-thousand dollars. Everyone appreciates hav
ing such fine instruments available on which to
practice and perform. Because of the pair of
black grand pianos in the chapel, pianists can
now perform piano duets.
One of the most enjoyable Fine Arts events
was the harpsichord recital presented Dr. Linda
Pointer. She provided the students, faculty, and
staff with an excellent sampling of harpsichord ^ ^ in d y Thomas, a music
