On the morning of May 10, as the
ensembles prepare to leave for summer
tours, Sandy Zwart covers Mr. Mike
Drury's car to protect it from the brutal
Florida sun. Just before “ hitting the road” ,
the ensemble members, faculty, and staff
join hands in a circle of prayer.
As the ensemble members, filled with
excitement and trepidation, depart for
their summer tours, Mrs. Elaine Johnson
gives Robyn Bonnell a final goodbye and a
word of encouragement. “ My heart goes
with them as they leave. Even though they
are leaving, and I am staying here, they are
in my thoughts and prayers at all times,"
said Mrs. Johnson.
During the fall, the ensembles minister in
churches and schools throughout Florida
as well as provide special music in Chapel.
The Western ensemble sings during a
Christian Life Conference meeting at the
beginning of first semester. This ensemble
incudes Sarah Deuel, Matt Williamson,
Kathy Teague, Kris DeWitt, Greg Bonnell,
Robyn Bonnell, and Doug Lacy.
