lthough the intellectual and social
aspects of college take up much of
a student’s time, another factor as
equally important is keeping
physically fit. In an already busy
schedule, it is not always easy to
find time to exercise.
Some students prefer watching fellow classmates
exercise. This is easily accomplished. In the gym, they
can watch a team practice, an intramural match, or a
pickup game of basketball or volleyball. Outside, one
can see walkers and runners pass by on the track or
be a spectator to a tennis match or a shoot-around
on the outdoor basketball court.
Some girls, instead of “ hitting” the gym or track,
conveniently use the stairs of Paden Hall as a built-in
stair stepper. Laura LaPietra said, “ It strengthens
legs faster than walking or running.”
