W hat makes any good play? The actors do, they make up the whole show. Does
that mean they all get along perfectly in order to do this? Of course not! Senior Shawn
Davis says, “The cast typically gets along very well. All of us share a similar sense of
humor. Since it is a small cast play, it is vital that we all understand each other and
that we can work in a cohesive group. To accomplish a common goal, we need to work
together and help each other out to overcome our mistakes.”
The actors must become the person they are portraying in order to accurately make
the audience believe they are that character. The audience sometimes can be easily
convinced. Junior Mac Wallace says, “I would say my favorite part of a play is all the
things that go wrong on performance nights that nobody notices.” The whole cast
works as hard as they can to successfully put on a play. Whether it be spotlighting or
running crew everyone works together to create an amazing production. There is no
time to slack or settle. It is an all or nothing effort every rehearsal and show night.
