he Ralston High School wrestling program is a sport that always has individual
and team success. Watching this team, it is easy to see that leadership and grit are the
characteristics this team really focuses on. “We push each other to do better and never
slack when we are on the mats, we push each other to the limits day after day,” says
senior Zach Curtis.
Not only does the team support each other, the coaches also play an important role
in their success. Senior Gabriel James explains, “They’re tough on us, but a lot of the
time they cheer us on and keep us going. The way that they push me is by telling me
what I did wrong, and then they encourage me to do better and work harder.” The
wrestling team continues to work hard everyday, and make an individual sport a team
effort by showing leadership and working together.
