_L he JV girls basketball team had a break-through moment by defeating Thomas
Jefferson in overtime. The game was a back and forth contest the entire second half before
the Rams were able to hit a shot at the buzzer to win in overtime. “My best memory so far
is winning against Thomas Jefferson and everyone in the whole gym was freaking out after
I hit the buzzer beater in overtime,” sophomore Abby Heig exclaimed.
Basketball is about about the hard work and commitment you put in. The JV team
continues to compete and improve in practice and it is starting to show in the games. Like
the varsity, the team includes several three sport athletes. Junior Lewa Rezina comments,
“Conditioning helps me outside of school by keeping me in shape and helps me with other
sports I’m in.” Preparation is key in an intense sport such as basketball. Heig also states, “I
prepare for the game by having a good warm up.” This year’s team is all about hard work
and determination.

It is hard to beat a team that never gives up. The Lady Rams
Lock it UP. celebrates their win in over time against Thomas Jefferson.
