"Dr. Dewan, the
lady I work with,
got my name from
a lady at Bergan
Mercy. She called
me and asked me
if I could be her
nanny. I didn't know then be­
cause I didn't know the kids. So
I went and had an interview with
her. I volunteered about a year
at Bergan Mercy Hospital day
care. I worked with kids that
werearound 18 months but that's
the only training that I've had. I
just took care of them in the day
care and played with them. They
are both doctors; she has a fam­
ily practice and he's a respira­
tory therapist. She wanted some­
one who could drive because I
pick up the kids after school.
Driving was a big factor. I started
April 2 last year, and I've been
doing it ever since. I pick them
up from school and I stay until 6.

I'm really attached. Since I go
over every day, I know the fam­
ily very well. (I like) just being
close to the kids and working
with them. The kids are getting
older now so they just need me
to drive them around. I don't
think I'll do it during my senior
year; this summer should be my
last. I would like to major in
business."
