John Steere has been here for a helluva
long time. (As a matter of fact, he never
swears; just ask EBR or Smytty.) Maybe
that’s why he exemplifies our class so well.
Whether it be cutting up teachers (M L H )n,
throwing spitballs and pulling the wings off
flies in Latin class, or racking up a fellow soc
cer player, Jasy shows the driving spirit that’s
strongest in '64. But don’t believe that Jasy
is all cool, for he has been known to make
Honors, do word problems in record time for
a certain math teacher, and sometimes to ad
vise logic where our class likes chaos.
Throughout the years at M.B.. John has con
tributed much of the color that has made our
class stand out.

It has been rumored that Tom Steere is
the hatchet man for the Dufresne "machine.”
His silent manner, his cold staring glance
have scared many underclassmen. Elmo was
the proud captain of the soccer team and
helped them win more games than they have
won before. Tom dispenses justice from his
position as the chairman of the quasi-judicial
Judicial Board. But Crunch’s greatest achieve
ment is to have completed an entire year at
M.B. without ever having given a straight
answer to any teacher and to have made more
Delphic utterances than Mr. Raines himself.
In fact, you might think that Tom never
says anything if you have never been near
him after one of his infrequent miskicks
(? # # !)• Next year, Tom, like all other
soccer captains, will be at the University of
Pennsylvania and will try to set up another
political machine with Dufresne.
