fast break set a new single game
record in a 98-84 victory over Gov
ernor Dummer.
The Quakers’ twenty-game win
ning streak was ended by a taller
St. George’s team. Though behind
by as much as fourteen points early
in the game, the Dragons exploded
in the second half to win 71-68.
Recovered from their first loss,
the cagers stormed back to down
Tabor Academy 83-77. On a larger
court, St. George’s again proved too
much for M.B., downing the Blue
and White sharpshooters 77-50. By
far the poorest showing of the sea
son was the St. Andrew’s game,
where the determined Red Devils
handed us a second defeat in a
row, 68-63.
Bouncing back, the Quakers
scored 116 points against 71 for
Country Day. Bob Langlois broke
the individual scoring mark with
42 points. After a first-half slump,
the M.B. offense amassed 44 points
against Pomfret, to win 74-54. In
the season finale, ten Quakers scored
in an 82-47 victory over Wilbur
High.
Led by co-captains Bob Langlois
and Ed Ellington, the team aver
aged nearly 78 points per game.
Also contributing to the excellent
season were Barclay Dorman’s re
bounding and fierce playing and
Chris Kent’s sharpshooting. Best of
luck to next year’s team.
