Key Club! Key Club was an orga
nized group to do activities for
Ralston High and for the surround
ing community. Students joined
the club for many reasons. “ It’s a
good way to get credit for Na
tional Honor Society said Mike
Hawk, a junior Key Club member.
They also joined because they just
wanted to participate in school
activities and help out the commu
nities of Ralston and Omaha.
Key Club consisted of 38
members and they met almost
every week. They did many activi
ties like help the senior citizens
play bingo at the Huntington Care
Center and the Crop Walk to
raise money for people in Africa. “
You learn about life and other
people that are less fortunate or
the elderly, to treat them right,”
said Hawk.
National Honor Society also
contributed to the community.
They traveled to the Open Door
Mission and helped serve meals to
homeless. Senior Jenny Meents,
NHS Secretary, said, "It was fun
and it opened our eyes to the
problems of the homeless. It really
gave me a good feeling to help."
NHS also visited the senior
citizens at the Huntington Care
Center, but instead of playing Bingo,
they brought their pets. "It was
almost a miracle the way light
came into those the senior citizen's
