September Z1, 1988, marked the blessing and
dedicatinn of the newest building on campus; The General
Harrg G. Trexler Librarg. The annual opening Mass of the
Holg Spirit, held on the plaza of the librarg, was part of
the celebration, with the theme: “ The Holg Spirit
Empowers Us to Hear and Respond to the W ord.”
The Uerg Rev. Thomas Welsh, bishop of the Diocese of
Hllentown, along with those members of the facultg and
administration who are also priests, celebrated Mass.
U/illiam Welsh, Deputg Librarian of Gongress, and
brother to the Bishop, addressed the academic
convocation that followed the Mass.
The dag of celebration concluded with a campus-wide
picnic held outdoors on the mall of McShea Center.
Bra. James McCabe, Mr. William Welsh, and Mrs. Joan McIntyre The campus choral contributed to the day’s celebration.
