There's a girl at
my home church
that has Down
Syndrome; and
she is one of the
sweetest people I
know, so I thought
of her and decided
to do the Buddy
walk. Everyone
was very friendly, and I saw lots of families doing
the walk together whether there was someone with
Down Syndrome in their family or not. It was a great
way to spend a Saturday morning, and it helped to
support a great cause. It was well worth it for me to
miss sleeping in one time." Jennifer Bolan

Every semester each Greek is required to sponsor a
service project. PBR helped out a children's home, KAX
went to a children's hospital. One activity that was spon
sored by KAX was the Buddy Walk. "The Buddy Walk is
a fund-raiser to increase awareness for Down Syndrome children. It's a one mile walk,
and the children walk with you; but the walk is more about getting to know how amazing
the children are (you don’t actually walk for them, it's more of a 'family' style walk.) The
people in charge work hard to get everything organized, and they give away games, toys,
lots of donated prizes and awards. The Buddy Walk is just to let everybody know these
children have so much to offer, and when you walk away from that day, you pretty much
leave a piece of your heart behind," said Jen Williamson. One of the women's Greeks
also sponsored a car wash to help raise support for Team Mexico. Greeks also sponsor
social activities. KAX and PTE sponsored the second annual Christmas Carnival.
Not only do Greeks minister to the community, but also to each other. Almost
every other Friday chapel slot is designated so that Greeks can get together. Members fel
lowship, pray, sing, share testimonies, and study God's Word. These special chapel times
afford a refreshing and uplifting break from the normal chapel routine.
