regional tournament, losing a close game to the first-ranked Southeast
ern. Freshman Kyle Cleveland said, “We are a better team than our
record showed, and that was seen in the regional tournament as we

ended up in the championship game. We finished the season strong.”
At the end of the season, athletes received awards to honor
them and their efforts. Freshman Ryan Mayer won the Coach’s Award;
sophomore Mike Surles received Best Offensive Player Award; senior
Dale Traxler won the Best Defensive Player Award; and senior James
Coffman was named the Most Valuable Player of the team.
