For many, spring break was a time of opportunity-. Several
students headed across the Atlantic, to Ireland, for a ten day study
tour which was led by Mrs. Catherine Anthony. Dr. Mary Draper, vice
president of academic affairs, who accompanied the group, she hopes
to see such educational opportunities for students in the future.
Mr. and Mrs. David Fitzgerald led a Communications Arts trip
to New York City. "I loved going to New York," said Madeline Mar
tin. "It was fresh, vivid and exciting. There’s such a blend of people
and cultures that all manage to survive together. Seeing some of the
museums, like the Metropolitan Museum of Art, seeing the Broadway
shows, seeing a performance of the Metropolitan Opera, these were
all thrilling and new experiences for me. I would return to New York
at nearly any opportunity that may come up. I can truthfully say the
cliche: 'I love New York.'" The group attended Broadway musicals,
the Metropolitan Opera, a New York Pops concert in Carnegie Hall
and had the opportunity to be on television.
