Months away from graduation, many seniors are looking forward to the end of
classes and homework. For some however, the end of college is only the beginning of
much more schooling. These students want to move up in the realm of education into
an arena that is different from that of college. Students feel that they have been prepared
by their professors. Heidi Hopkins, who plans on attending the University of Michigan,
said, "Dr. Wiggins has prepared me the most by giving me tests and projects that are like
graduate school." Teachers take great interest in the progress of their students. As Joe
Conrad put it, "The one-on-one attention by Drs. Henry, Deckert, Ring, and others was
i
of extreme value."
While students have been prepared for graduate school, they will still face various l
obstacles. Some have to face difficult tests in order to attend graduate school. However,
for Micah Tompkins, the greatest barrier is himself. "My old habits and lapses of mental
focus and confidence are problems that need to be controlled," said Micah. Despite dif
ficulties, seniors throughout the college have the goal of graduate school before them as
they finish their education at Clearwater.
